Physical Therapy Functional Training in Franklin, MA

At your first appointment, your Physical Therapist will perform a thorough evaluation and develop a personalized rehabilitation treatment program with you that may include Functional Training.

What is Functional Training?

Functional training activities incorporate the use of multiple parameters such as balance, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Functional activities are designed to safely and gradually progress as you recover to allow for achievement of your functional and recreational goals.

Functional training is meant to improve the activities of daily living (sometimes referred to as ADL). ADL can range from personal care activities, like showering or dressing, to housekeeping or home maintenance activities, like cleaning, putting dishes away, or doing yardwork, to activities you need to do for work and recreation.

What Our Clients Say

Robert Heriot

I took the recommendation of my surgeon and started preparing for surgery with Pro PT six weeks prior to my left hip replacement. I’m convinced that this work made my transition back to unassisted mobility post-surgery much quicker. Pro PT also helped me with the work to successfully regain mobility and flexibility of the joint post-surgery.
This work concluded just in time for me to start a pre-surgery program for my right hip replacement seven months after the left. It was “rinse and repeat” with the same results.
Many thanks to Dr. Ross and the entire team at West Central for getting me back on my feet again.

I have been going to Professional Physical Therapy for 3 weeks and have already noticed a marked improvement in the problem which my orthopedist wanted treated. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful.
When I complained about a different issue, a “Charlie horse” which occurred during the night, my therapist immediately showed me a stretch which relieved the cramping on the spot! I am already a big fan of this practice!
